Oaklands can provide access to digital cameras for groups during courses.
Visiting staff are normally given the cameras out and about on activity to take as many photos as possible (although they often have their hands full looking after the group!). We cannot guarantee we’ll get good quality photos of all those who participate in each course.
At the end of the course the photos are passed onto the visiting groups leader. If there’s time we’ll try and publish photos of the group on our website, photos will only be published on our website after the group have left the Centre. We’re very careful in selecting photos choosing images which do not identify individual students favouring group shots and images that paint a picture of the adventures had during a course. Before publishing any photos we’ll ask your course leader to double check them at which point your photos page will be unlocked.
Before publishing the quality of the image is reduced, this makes them great to look at on the screen, however become pixelated if zoomed in etc.
We’d like to leave the photos up on our website so future groups from your school/youth group can have a look at what the previous group got up to.
If however you’d like us to remove any photos from our website we’d be happy to do so. All we’d need is some details from you and a description of the photo. Please use the form below to help us locate and remove it.
In some cases photos my be so good we’ll ask for permission to use them in other publications. Some groups may fill in a perennial/guardian consent form giving us permission to use photos in a variety of other media prior to the course, alternatively we may ask a group/school to ask a parent/guardian permission to use a specific image after a course. We’ll only use photos in other media (such as posters, promotional films etc) if we’ve had permission from a patent or guardian.
