This 2 day training course is is designed to cover the British Caving Associations Local Mine Leader Level 1 Syllabus, for more details abouth the course check out the BCA website (click here).
Please note that there are prerequisites (see BCA website) and registration to the British Caving Association for this this course, which if you don’t forefill the course may be invalid. This course is aimed at those who’ve previous experience in either mine or cave exploration with the view to lead others underground within horizontal systems only (no pitches), for those wishing to lead groups in vertical systems they should also complete the level 2 training course. This is a mine leader training course, for those wanting to lead groups in caves as well as mines an additional cave module can be added to this course as an additional days training (additional £70).
The course will run from 9:30am on day 1, finishing at 5:30pm, followed by a 9am-5pm day on day 2. Course participants should be prepared for both classroom, outdoor and underground sessions each day.
The course fees include any technical equipment, instruction and transport during the course (you’ll need to get here and bring a lunch for each day). Accomodation can be made available as Bed and Breakfast for an additional £20.
