Tranmere Rovers Manager Les Parry decided to take all the players, coaches and apprentices to the Oaklands Outdoor Education Centre for the day as part of the club’s training programme.

Les said ‘I was looking for an opportunity for a bit of variety in the training that would challenge the players as well as build on the great team spirit that already exists in the club. Oaklands was the perfect solution’

The group took part in a number of challenging activities including abseiling, orienteering, gorge – walking and travelling down a zip wire. The players also took part in a number of problem solving activities including building rafts from the ropes, logs and barrels provided- then paddling the construction on a lake round a 100m course – with mixed results!

Les said ‘We had a fantastic day. The lads were taken out of their comfort zone and had to push themselves to overcome the various challenges. It was great to see the players all working together on the problem solving activities – and some of them got very wet! The day was a great success due to the excellent instruction and the variety of activities in a superb environment. We plan to return to the Centre during our pre-season training next year’

Oaklands offer a range of team building days – why not give us a call?
